Dr. Rolando V. Cuaño

Is a recognized expert in environmental impact and risk assessment.  A mining engineer, he obtained his Ph.D. in Spatial Statistics (Geostatistics) from the University of Sydney, Australia.  He has an MBA from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.  Dr. Cuaño has had intensive training on air pollution control, wastewater treatment, dam design and safety guidelines, erosion and sediment control, environmental risk assessment, environmental law, and social auditing.  He is also proficient in the ISO 14001 standard on environmental management systems. Prior to doing consultancy work, Dr. Cuaño worked as Regional Director of the DENR and as Director for Environment and Engineering of Philex Mining Corporation.

Engr. Jose N. Tanchuling

Is a mining engineer with hands‐on experience in mining and data management systems.   Formerly connected with Benguet Corporation, he undertook mine planning, infrastructure planning, and economic analysis of investment alternatives.  After the feasibility study stage, he monitored and helped manage the mining project during construction and operations.   Engr. Tanchuling also worked as Environment Manager for Philex Mining Corporation.   He has had local and foreign trainings in project management, environmental management, and land use planning.

Dr. Leonardo M. Florece

Is BMP’s terrestrial biologist.   He has a Ph.D. Forestry from the University of New Brunswick, Canada and M.Sc. and B.Sc. Forestry from the University of the Philippines.  Formerly the Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Management of the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, Dr. Florece brings to BMP his rich experience in land issues, forest management, terrestrial ecosystem, and rehabilitation of marginal lands including hardstands and mined‐out areas.

Ms. Marita G. Cuaño

Is a Certified Public Accountant with masteral studies at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business and post graduate studies on advanced financial analysis and financial modeling at the University of Technology Sydney.

She specializes in social and health profiling, community development programming, livelihood assessment, stakeholder engagement, resettlement, management information systems, and feasibility studies.   Formerly the Manager of the Venture Capital Department of the Ayala Foundation, she sourced and implemented projects for marginal income groups.

Ms Cuaño has lectured on Financial Management and Women Entrepreneurship development here and abroad.

Dr. Ma. Vivian de la Cruz Camacho

Is BMP’s aquatic biologist. Currently, a Professor at the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, she has a Ph.D. in Marine Science from the Nagazaki University, M.Sc. in Aquaculture from the Asian Institute of Technology, and B.Sc. in Zoology from the University of the Philippines. Her fields of expertise and interests are fisheries science, fish biology, aquaculture, plankton taxonomy and ecology, soft bottom fauna taxonomy and ecology, and marine and freshwater ecology.

Arch. Jun Pineda

Manages the drafting and mapping department of the company.
